Senior Design Engineer

Job Description

The Sr. Design Engineer will participate in the Medical Device design and development process, performing specific duties and preparing engineering analysis or projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection
Prepare and interpret blueprints
Schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids
Prepare technical specifications
Perform engineering duties surrounding the following:
- mechanical devices, components and medical devices
- manage project issues, budgets, and schedules
- review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details
- review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices
- coordinate the activities of the design teams.
- uphold the professional image of the company
- and other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

BSME or four-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Experience / Skills

5-year minimum medical device experience
Work requires advanced math skills.
Special relationship abilities
Ability to understand "abstract" principles behind math and physics.
Working knowledge of solid modeling preferably SolidWorks.
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills
Strong technical writing skills.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and processes
Technical files and CE marking requirements.
Experience with Solid Works product data management (PDM) system
FMEA analysis preferably CASMOS
Some regulatory experience
510(K) submission experience
Intermediate to advanced MS office skills
