Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Lead to identify and secure new Medical Device Development and Manufacturing clients for Occam Design. The sales process will involve prospecting, qualifying and assisting with the closing of new business opportunities within the 4 key stages of ideation, engineering, design and manufacturing of Class I and Class II medical devices.


Duties & Responsibilities

This exciting opportunity will require engineering acumen along with exceptional sales hunter skills and experience, as well as innovative thinking and tenacity to successfully identify, qualify and close new clients.

The Occam Sales Lead will be provided with all the resources and support to ensure success in this unique role. The Sales Lead will collaborate with the Occam management, engineering and production team to develop and execute sales plans, forecasts and production targets, carry the Occam story to prospective customers, leading the sales process through to closing.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, this position will travel and work remotely as necessary to accommodate client needs.


Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering or equivalent experience.


Experience / Skills Requirements

  • A minimum of five years’ experience selling technical, engineering or advisory services
  • Proven success in achieving annual sales of greater than $3 million 
  • Proven successful Technical Selling / B2B and account development experience
  • Strongly self-motivated individual.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinker
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate at all levels within an organization
  • Marketing/lead generating campaign development experience
  • Commitment to high standards and personal responsibility
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong independence and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to achieve challenging prospecting and sales goals
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Fluent in English


Desired Skills

  • Experience working with product innovation, research or engineered mechanical solutions.
  • Knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of GMP Quality Systems and 13485 Standard
